  • London’s crime rate is 30% higher than the rest of the country. (ONS)
  • Last year the police recorded 33,947 car thefts, 59,866 burglaries and 173,675 violent and sexual crimes in the capital. (Home Office)
  • The Metropolitan Police recorded 10,220 knife related crimes last year.
  • Over 1.5 million victims have contacted Victim Support, a 13% increase on the previous year.
