News: London Churches Back Love London

Fifty church leaders across London from different denominations came together on the 4th February to hear about the Love London initiative. As the vision to unite local churches in mission, social action and evangelism was unveiled, it was clear that Love London is a project in tune with the heartbeat of the Church.

Love London aims to unite churches to practically demonstrate the love of God to their communities in every one of London’s 33 boroughs. Premier Christian Radio will lead the project and with its partners, provide support, resources, publicity and infrastructure to help these churches work together effectively.

Love London grew out of the pioneering work undertaken in the London Borough of Croydon and Southend-on-Sea. The initiative is based on a proven and effective concept that has united churches and resulted in many people coming to know Jesus. Love London seeks to empower local churches and activists on the ground to reach their communities as they see fit.

This meeting marks the beginning of a shared vision which will be replicated in every borough of London. By the time the 2012 Olympic Games arrive, Love London’s goal is to have united clusters of churches actively loving their community in every borough.
